Favory Cremona (1980–2008)

Favory Dubowina-49 x 11 Cremona
Lipizzaner stallion
"Fritz"

Fritz was my second Lipizzan and my first stallion—and a kinder, more gentlemanly horse would be very hard to find. He had perfect ground manners and took care of me in the saddle while I regained my nerves. He was a 14.3h dynamo!

I purchased him at age 17 as my Prix St. Georges schoolmaster. He taught me for three years, until he sustained a suspensory injury that forced him into early  retirement at age 21.

Fritz won the "smallest ears in the barn" contest! He could scrape his bridle off by rubbing his head on his foreleg—a trick he thankfully never played on me.

Fritz retired first to White Horse Vale in Goldendale, Washington, and then to a small stud farm on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, where he lived out his days doing exactly what every stallion wants to do.
