Smooth-haired
dachshunds are wimps—they're too close to the ground and there's no
hair on that undercarriage. The only way I could get Carrie Ann out on
walks in the winter without her stopping halfway around the block and
demanding to be carried was to dress her up like a sausage-shaped
Scotsman.
